CLIFF HATTON
Cliff Hatton was born in South East London and lived for many years in Essex, near Chelmsford, but always yearned to escape to the Welsh borders. Whilst in Essex he worked as a supply teacher at the same time as studying for an Honours degree in Humanities with English. Cliff was a talented whole-wall mural artist, cartoonist and writer and was a regular contributor to Waterlog magazine. He spent many years working on production lines and in industries too foul to describe, but he loved to travel, and in recent years spent time in Venezuela, Brazil, Thailand, New Zealand, Fiji and Tanzania. His incredible bicycle ride to Athens and back as a 20 year was always his favourite adventure. His two cartoon books All Beer & Boilies (2007) and All Wind & Water (2009) are delightful parodies of the modern specimen angler . . .
Cliff finally got his wish and moved to his beloved Wye valley a few years ago, living in Hay-on-Wye, where his fishing escapades revolved around chasing big barbel. Cliff sadly passed away on 15th March 2021, after a brief struggle with illness, at Prince Charles hospital in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. He has three wonderful, accomplished children: Chris; Hayley and Joanna.
Medlar titles include:
All Beer & Boilies - carp fishing
All Wind & Water - pike fishing
