PAUL MORGAN
Paul Morgan started selling second-hand fishing and sporting books in 1982, while he was still working as a water bailiff on the river Dyfi. In 1990, Paul took up bookselling full-time under the name Coch-y-Bonddu Books. The small cottage shared by Paul and his young family (and dogs) was soon filled to overflowing with thousands of old books. The need to take on more staff to deal with the ever-increasing mail-order business led to the acquisition of shop and storage premises in the centre of Machynlleth.
The first book Paul compiled was Saltwater Flyfishing in Britain and Northern Europe, inspired by his love of bass fishing on the Welsh coast. In 2003 paul compiled The Lady of the Stream for the Medlar Press. This book is a rare collection of all the finest stories about the grayling, with contributions from many famous anglers.
His 2008 book, Hampton’s Angling Bibliography, co-authored with Ken Callahan, is a bibliography of British angling books published between 1881 and 1949,
